backtracking a bit, to comment on a fashion in brazil, that is also in fashion in argentina. and not in the USA.
if you could name one thing that signifies "tourist" what would it be?
i might say "fannypack", the age old disneyworld mom staple for easy access to purell, kleenex, money, camera, maybe even a water bottle.
and yet, this is in fashion in southern brazil. all the cool, tough guys sport fanny packs! its pretty weird. anyway, my backpacks and shoulder bags stand out. shoulda brought a fanny pack. oh wait, they're EVERYWHERE.
